EVENTS & MARKETING INTERN

MINIMUM POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with departments located in the Denver Office including Events, Ad Sales, Marketing and Affiliate Sales on a variety of projects.
  • Working with Sportsman Channel Outdoor Fest (SCOF) team to generate and grow exhibitor relationships for an annual trade show being held in Houston, Tx each summer. 
  • Maintain and update external vendor/exhibitor contact information.
  • Researching and strategizing how to target prospective exhibitor candidates.
  • Reaching out to potential exhibitor candidates to introduce them to the SCOF Trade Show. 
  • Submitting interested candidates to the trade show sales team.
  • Willing to work between 20 – 29 hours per week for three months.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly build rapport with customers and assess customer needs.


PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in media after graduation.

GUEST RELATIONS INTERN

OVERVIEW:
The Guest Relations Internship provides an opportunity to learn about the planning, execution and implementation of guest services at Pepsi Center and Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. Interns will participate in the day-to-day operations of the Guest Relations department, assist with various departmental game and event night responsibilities and initiatives and learn how to effectively manage and train Guest Relations staff. The ideal intern should have strong communication skills, possess a desire to learn about conflict resolution and event management and be available some nights and weekends. 

MINIMUM RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with Guest Relations training for Pepsi Center and Dick’s Sporting Goods Park
  • Plan and Coordinate Guest Relations Employee Appreciation events
  • Shadow Manager on Duty during events including Guest Relations and other Arena Operations departments
  • Assist with office duties to include checking voicemails, entering feedback forms, compiling and mailing guest fan packs and responding to guest emails
  • Conduct research and create presentations for proposed program initiatives
  • Assist Memory Maker Department with parties
  • Attend weekly Arena Operations and Event meetings
  • Manage sporting events including preparation of pre-event materials, assigning staff positions, taking calls and being point of contact during event and preparing post event budget
  • Prepare monthly staff templates for scheduling
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word Processing, Excel, Outlook and Publisher
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple departments and multiple companies
  • Ability to provide workers’ compensation and general liability insurance from the university sponsoring internship experience
  • Ability to work independently

PRODUCTION INTERN

REPORTS TO: OPERATIONS MANAGER

TERM: JULY 1 - DECEMBER 31, 2018

MINIMUM POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Logging and attaching metadata information for Nuggets, Avalanche, Rapids and Mammoth game highlights
  • Learning studio production, its structure and then operation of teleprompter, camera, lighting and some graphics
  • Learning remote production and working with the Remote Production Coordinator while at the Pepsi Center or Dick’s Sporting Goods Park during game event nights.
  • Television Operations covers a wide range of various technical aspects that are invaluable to the execution of all events.  Interns in this role will learn a lot of the overall operations of the behind-the-scenes part of live television, giving them a wide array of knowledge about the business. 
  • Act as production assistant on shoots at various locations at the Pepsi Center, Dick’s Sporting Goods Park and around Denver 
  • Roughly 20-25 hours a week, including nights and weekends, some hours at Pepsi Center and/or Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, many at the Network Operations Center 
  • Training on various broadcast level equipment in technical center and in the field
  • Creation of lower third ticker graphics 
  • General duties as assigned


MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Paid, able to receive school credit
  • Must be available 20-25 hours/week, including nights and weekends 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Prefer Television Production, Broadcast, Technical Communications, or similar major 
  • Interest in sports television and knowledge of local sports teams is necessary 
  • Strong interest assisting Videographers and Producers with production of Altitude weekly and game shows
  • Experience in other areas of sports television production is preferred.
