EVENT OPERATIONS INTERN

HOURS: 15-25 HOURS PER WEEK, FLEXIBLE

OVERVIEW:

The Event Operations Internship provides the opportunity for a student to learn and assist with various event operations tasks, and be involved with all aspects of sporting and special events occurring at the Pepsi Center.


MINIMUM RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Support arena operations management in the planning and preparation of events.

· Assist with research and implementation of events and operations initiatives.

· Shadow event directors and other arena operations departments during events.

· Attend Arena Operations and Event meetings.

· Plan, organize and manage a selected event during the semester.

· Assist with various projects as assigned.

· Perform other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills

· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word Processing, Excel, Outlook and Publisher

· Ability to provide workers’ compensation and general liability insurance from the university sponsoring internship experience

· Ability to work in fast paced environment with multiple departments and multiple companies

· Strong professional presence

· Willingness to learn and contribute to team goals

· Ability to work independently

· Available to work some nights and weekends

· Ability to acquire or produce and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license and meet company vehicle driving standards preferred.

OVERVIEW:

The Guest Relations Internship provides an opportunity to learn about the planning, execution, and implementation of guest services at Pepsi Center and Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. Interns will participate in the day-to-day operations of the Guest Relations department, assist with various departmental game and event night responsibilities and initiatives, and learn how to effectively manage and train guest services staff. The ideal intern should have strong communication skills, possess a desire to learn about conflict resolution and event management, and be available some nights and weekends.

MINIMUM RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assist with Guest Relations training.

· Produce monthly staff newsletter.

· Shadow Manager on Duty during events including Guest Relations and other Arena Operations departments.

· Assist with office duties to include checking voicemails, updating weekly call time recordings, entering feedback forms, compiling and mailing guest fan packs, and responding to guest emails.

· Conduct research and create presentations for proposed program initiatives.

· Assist with planning and organization of KSE STARS Committee Parties.

· Compile KSE STARS Employee of the Month packets and update Employee of the Month board.

· Attend weekly Arena Operations and Event meetings.

· Manage sporting events including preparation of pre-event materials, assigning staff positions, taking calls and being point of contact during event, and preparing post event budget.

· Other duties as assigned.

OVERVIEW:

Kroenke Sports & Entertainment is the home of Pepsi Center, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, and Colorado Mammoth. KSE also owns Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, Colorado Rapids and other venues. At KSE, it is our goal to provide internships that are rewarding, both academically and professionally. The Corporate Partnerships Sales and Service department is responsible for bringing in new sponsors and retaining current clients of the properties that are housed in the Pepsi Center. The goal of this program is to teach students what goes into a successful relationship with corporate sponsors of the Pepsi Center, Colorado Avalanche, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Mammoth and Colorado Rapids. This will be done through research, in-market and in-game promotions, special events, marketing, game day operations and outstanding client service.


MINIMUM RESPONSIBILITIES (changes seasonally)

· Direct Pepsi Center All-Access tours

· Direct various consumer giveaway/promotions

· Assist in setting up VIP Nights for sponsor events

· Assist with planning and implementing corporate sponsor events

· Assist Game Operations with entertainment and game night events

· Compile element books for account executives to use when presenting to current and prospective sponsors

· Assist the account teams in creating recaps to show sponsors what they received in their package the previous season

· Assist the account teams in compiling recaps

· Research sponsors and prospective clients

· Put together proposals for account teams to use for prospective clients


INTERN OPPORTUNITIES (changes seasonally)

· Sit in and participate in meetings with various clients

· Meet or shadow with other departments of KSE (Game Operations, Marketing, Ticket Sales, Event Management, Community Relations, Box Office, IT or Human Resources)

· Work and attend Avalanche, Nuggets and Mammoth games


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Able to work all assigned office hours and game nights.

PRODUCTION INTERN, ALTITUDE (FALL/WINTER)

Altitude Sports & Entertainment Internship Program Information
Welcome to Altitude Sports & Entertainment. We are the regional broadcast network home of the Colorado Avalanche, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Mammoth, Colorado Rapids, collegiate games, high-school events, as well as entertainment and community programming. We strive to provide internships that are rewarding both academically and professionally.

Our internships are offered in a variety of areas throughout our organization, including Production, Operations, Advertising Sales, Affiliate Sales and Broadcast Services. Depending on the nature of the position, the internships vary in length and time of year.

All of our internships are paid.  However, you can still receive academic credit for the experience as well.

2017 ALTITUDE SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

PRODUCTION (Altitude Network Operations Center, Centennial)

·          Logging  and attaching metadata information for Nuggets, Avalanche, Rapids and Mammoth game highlights

·          Learning studio production, its structure  and then operation of teleprompter, camera, lighting and some graphics.

·          Learning remote production and working with the Remote Production Coordinator while at the Pepsi Center during game event nights.

·          Television Operations covers a wide range of various technical aspects that are invaluable to the execution of all events.  Interns in this role will learn a lot of the overall operations of the behind-the-scenes part of live television, giving them a wide array of knowledge about the business.

·          Help on game nights with logging & cutting game highlights for use in Avalanche, Nuggets, Mammoth and Rapids programming

·          Act as production assistant on shoots at various locations at the Pepsi Center, Dick’s Sporting Goods Park and around Denver

·          Roughly 15-20 hours a week, including nights and weekends, some hours at Pepsi Center and/or Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, many at the Network Operations Center

·          Training on various broadcast level equipment in technical center and in the field

·          General duties as assigned

Production Intern qualifications:

·          Paid, able to receive school credit

·          Must be available 20-25 hours/week, including nights and weekends

·          Excellent communication skills

·          Prefer Television Production, Broadcast, Technical Communications, or similar major

·          Interest in sports television and knowledge of local sports teams is necessary

·          Strong interest assisting Videographers and Producers with production of Altitude weekly and game shows
