POSITION: KSE SPRING INTERNSHIPS


The following are brief descriptions of KSE internships that may be available this spring. The duties are tentative and can change depending on business needs. If there are specific internships that interest you, please mention them in your cover letter and the subject line of your e-mail.

· The Athletic Training internship with the Colorado Rapids teaches students about training in a professional sports environment. Candidates should be First Aid and CPR certified, studying Athletic Training/Sports Medicine or a related field in college, and have previous athletic training experience.
 
· The Communications/Media Relations internship will give students the chance to work in the communications department of one of our teams. Duties may include organizing news clips, research, supporting the team operations staff, game day media setup, and assisting with press box operations. Interns must be available to work all home games, and for the Avalanche must be available to work during business hours on Mon/Weds/Fri or Tues/Thurs. The ability to speak and write in Spanish is a plus for the Rapids.
 
· The Community Relations internship will teach students about community affairs, fundraising, special events, and other charitable initiatives of KSE. The ideal intern should have strong communication/interpersonal skills, and a desire to help our community.

· The Corporate Sales/Marketing internship will show students what goes into our relationship with sponsors, including research, promotion development and execution, special events, sales recaps, and customer service. Business majors are preferred.

· The Event Management internship will teach students what goes into putting on an event at Pepsi Center or Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. The intern may be involved in event planning, setup, facility surveys and research, Guest Relations, game-day productions, event management, and special projects.

· The Game Entertainment & Promotions internship teaches students about promotions and entertainment at our sporting events. The intern should be comfortable in front of large crowds and must be able to work most of their team’s home games, plus some office hours. The ability to skate is a plus for the Avalanche internship.

· The Lacrosse Operations internship shows students the daily operations of the Colorado Mammoth and NDP Lacrosse, a national tournament company. Responsibilities may include office and team operations, tournament preparation and execution, researching potential tournament locations, database management, and cold calling. Strong computer skills are preferred.

· The Mammoth Statistics internship will allow an intern to help develop a statistics program that will be the benchmark for the sport of lacrosse. The intern will be involved in program design, scouting, data entry and analysis, and front office operations. The intern should be studying Statistics or Mathematics and have some knowledge of lacrosse, hockey, and/or basketball.

· The Risk Management internship shows students what goes into safety and emergency preparedness at a major sports and entertainment venue. The intern will be responsible for assisting with investigations, events, policies, and procedures, and will research safety and risk management topics.

· The Soccer Operations internship will teach students about the daily operations of the Colorado Rapids or the Rapids Youth Academy. One intern will work closely with the Team Administrator or Director of Operations to assist with all aspects of operating a professional soccer club. Other interns will focus on the Academy, working with camps, youth soccer games, and trainings. Previous soccer experience is a plus.

· The Ticket Operations internship with the Colorado Rapids will give students experience with all aspects of Ticket Sales, including box office operations, sales reports, group events, season ticket holder services, and stadium tours.

· The Youth and Fan Development internship allows students to work with KSE’s youth initiatives, including the Avalanche street hockey program, Junior Nuggets, Break the Ice, Rapids Dribble Pass & Score, Rapids Clinics, and team community events. The ideal intern should enjoy working with children, and must have night and weekend availability.
